Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012, with the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the web, including her own launched single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to work on Rihanna reference. Her announcement to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music clip was released, followed by a music video September. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 2013 she released her debut album No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song as a single by herself on her debut album. It was released with a music video on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube in the first week. As a support act She toured together with 6LACK during December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
